Description

"Elegantly fruited and inviting, the wine shows ripe strawberry, apple, nectarine and subtle spice aromas on the nose, leading to a juicy palate that is bright and flavoursome. The wine is elegantly expressed with delicate fruit intensity, backed by fine texture and vibrant acidity, finishing long and attractive. At its best: now to 2020" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Feb 2019

"Bright, pale eye-of-the-partridge pink colour with a little depth, lighter on the rim.  The nose is fresh with firm and elegantly taut aromas of white and yellow stonefruits with hints of thirst-quenching chalky minerals, unfolding a little herbal and floral detail.  This has freshness and intensity.  Medium-dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has sweet and luscious fruit flavours of strawberries and minerals, with yellow stonefruits, suggestions of exotic florals and hints of honeysuckle.  The fruit sweetness is balanced and underlined by light phenolic textures lending fine dry grip to the mouthfeel, and fresh acidity provides brightness.  The wine carries to an elegantly concentrated, lingering, mouthwatering finish.  This is a lush and juicy medium-dry roséwith strawberry, floral, stonefruit and mineral flavours on a light, phenolic-textured mouthwatering palate.  Serve as an aperitif and with Asian fare over the next 2 years.  A blend of South Australian Cabernet and Shiraz from the Grigoriou family vineyards in the Monash Valley, vines up to 30 y.o., fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc.  Winemaker: Con-Greig Grigoriou.  Australian certified organic" Raymond Chan, Nov 2018

Rose petal, plum and raspberry supported by subtle garden herb and a touch of spice. A fragrant wine of freshnes, purity and drive. Balanced from beginning to end with savoury dry flavours overaid with alluring sweet fruit flavours. A lovely wine to enjoy with food or on its own.

Sourced exclusively from fourth generation vignerons, the Grigoriou family who are based in the heat of the dry grown vineyards of the Monash Valley. Here the vines are stronger, healthier and simply put, produce exceptional fruit year in and out.

These well-established vineyards, up to 30 years of age, are planted in some of Australia's most fertile siols. At just under two hours from the famed Barossa, the area is rich in nutrients, has a mostly dry climate and receives most of rainfall through Autumn, which is perfect timing. The vineyards have good vigour, so vines are regulated with drip irrigation and planted widely to allow for growth also allowing the air flow to reduce disease pressure and help sustain organic practices.

2018 began well with solid winter rains replenishing the soil from the year prior. The vines had very good vigour throughout Spring but with the drying of Summer it was kept in check. A couple of light rain events in the new year and cool weather kept ripening at moderate pace before beautiful warm days and sunshine toward the end of Summer finished ripening off perfectly. This should be considered a very good year for most growers.

The fruit for this wine was harvested early, so before getting too ripe in flavour and sugars to ensure fine natural acidity remained in the resultant wine. A short fermentation period solely in stainless steel ensure clean, crip flavours and minimal oxygen contact. Crafted solely to snure crisp, fresh fruit flavours are maintained.
