Description

"It is beautifully fruited and appealing on the nose showing nectarine, poached pear, rockmelon and subtle spice aromas, followed by a succulent palate that is rounded and supple. The wine shows elegant fruit intensity backed by refreshing acidity, finishing long and smooth. Style: Off-dry. At its best: now to 2019" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Apr 2018

An enticing nose, reminiscent of apple strudel, caramelized pear and stone fruits. Some spicy, smoky mineral notes add complexity. A rich palate, with classic stone fruit notes, accompanied by baked apple, quince and custard flavours. Excellent weight, a bold mouth filling texture and a touch of stony minerality that completes the picture.

The Marble Leaf 2015 Marlborough Pinot Gris is made from fruit sourced from a mixture of sub regions and soil types in, which include; the stony, ex-river bed soils of the Rapaura and the heavier and more clay rich loam of the Southern Valleys. Each component brings something different to the wine. Richness, texture and weight are as important as fruit expression with this wine.

Food Pairing: Marble Leaf Marlborough Pinot Gris pairs well with flavoursome white meats such as pork and chicken as well as creamy pasta dishes. Alternatively, try with meaty fish such as Hapuku, Bluenose or Salmon.

Just delicious and for under $10, an absolute bargain. Couldn’t be happier and this is my second case.
