Description
"Wonderfully matured and beautifully complex, the wine shows spiced plum, dried cherry, game, tapenade, dark mushroom and toasted almond characters. The palate is silky and rounded, delivering sweet berry flavours together with rich savoury notes, elegantly framed by polished tannins. At its best: now to 2020" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Aug 2018
"Bottle-aged red made from old vines and held in barrel and bottle for five years before release. Made from undisclosed varieties (or variety) but I’d guess that Garnacha plays a dominant part. A fine-boned red with violet, red berry and chalky-mineral characters supported by very fine, chalky tannins" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review, Oct 2019
"Garnet-hued ruby colour with some depth, lighter edged with a little bricking. The nose is softly full and gently voluminous with aromas of savoury dark-red berry fruits harmoniously melded with a layering of nuts, earth and secondary oxidative development lending mellowness. This builds in intensity with aeration. Medium-full bodied, the palate is softly full with expansive layered flavours of soft red berry fruit melded with dried herbs and earth lending savoury interest, plus a little oxidative secondary development. The fruit is supported by light, grainy tannins providing plenty of fine-textured grip, and the wine is carried by the structure to a soft, mouthfilling finish. This is a soft, textured, mouthfilling Tempranillo with sweet and savoury dark-red berry fruit with dried herb and earthy flavours. Match with casseroles and slow-cooked red meat dishes over the next 3 years. Tempranillo fruit from central Spain, vines 10-30 y.o., fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 5 years before release. Winemakers: Javier Murua and Sara Ugarte" Raymond Chan, Nov 2018
Expect plenty of aromatic ripe red fruits, layered with flavours of vanilla and sweet spice. Medium bodied, with smooth, seamless tannins.
Grandeza Gran Tradición is a smooth, rounded red wine from the sun-drenched central Spanish plains. Hot, dry summers and cold winters are key to achieving the perfect balance of flavours, while the old vine fruit gives depth and complexity to the blend.
Grapes are hand-harvested from central Spanish vineyards with vines aged between 10-30 years old. Following crushing and destemming, the juice ferments in stainless steel for a period of 10-15 days. The wine then undergoes five years ageing before release.
Food Pairing: Enjoy on its own or with grilled or roasted red meats or charcuterie.
