The fruit for this Syrah was carefully selected from the winegrowing district of  Hawkes Bay. The vineyard site has ideal ripening conditions for achieving the intense aromatics and delicate structure that Syrah can give.  The wine is perfumed with exotic aromas of violets, rich cherry and mixed spices. The palate is elegant and luscious displaying full flavours of mixed summer berries and a hint of spice leading to a long complex toasty finish.

Fruit for this wine was held cold for four days before fermentation to help extract maximum flavour and colour. The wine was aged in a mixture of  French oak and stainless steel and underwent malolactic fermentation before being prepared for bottling. Perfect for drinking immediately this wine will continue to develop and delight for at least 5 years.
