Stables Ngatarawa Reserve Hawkes Bay Rosé 2016
Stables Ngatarawa Reserve Hawkes Bay Rosé 2016
Description
Bright watermelon pink in the glass with raspberry, strawberry, red cherry and plum aromas and a savoury herb note on the nose. A full and rich palate with vibrant berry fruit, red cherry and currants. Smooth textured. A red currant tang and dryish finish give balance.
A sense of history hangs in the rafters at the Stables. Built over 100 years ago, the Stables is the heart of the Ngatarawa winery in the Hawke's Bay. And it’s the home of New Zealand’s first family of winemaking, the Corbans. Their 'Stables Reserve' range is a fruit driven varietal collection produced from small parcels of premium grapes from selected vineyards. These food friendly wines have good palate weight and are styled to bring out the true varietal character of the region.
The 2016 growing season was a characterised by a relatively cool Spring, good heat through the mid-Summer with drought conditions in some Eastern areas and variable conditions at harvest. This made for a challenging harvest with picking decisions largely dictated by periodic rain events. However, conditions remained warm throughout the harvest period and all-in-all we were very satisfied with the quality and quantity of grapes received at the winery. Best enjoyed while young but can be cellared for up to 3 years from vintage date.
Food Pairing: The perfect accompaniment to al fresco and summer dining. Enjoy with salads, seafood and chicken dishes
