The Jacobson-Chiaroni family boutique vineyard grew from the idea that with love of the land and attention to detail their site would make great Pinot Noir and St Laurent. The family's mantra for their wine style is to produce: a romance not a blockbuster, feminine not masculine, balance not power, family not corporate, and love not lust!

Situated on a sloping alluvial fan at Hillview Road below the airport plateau on the outskirts of Alexandra, Central Otago, the soil consists of 27m depth of fine schist and greywacke river sands. The vineyard is sheltered from the north western and southern winds. This landscape provided the inpiration the The Judge Rock name which was taken the little known schist landmark called Old Judge Rock on the southern road entry into central Otago at Millers Flat.

This wine has deep purple colour with aromas of raspberries, plums, violets and hints of mushrooms. A balanced, rich and concentrated wine with plums and savoury charred oak flavours. The wine is medium bodied and mouth filling with concentrated silky tannins.

Very deep purple with purple hues.  Aromas of confected black plum and violets on the nose with white pepper and mushroom.  Sweet red plum, spice and confected raspberries show on the palate along with hints of leather. The wine has soft fine grained tannin, good complexity and bright acidity with a long finish with lovely minerality.

Very dark purple with purple hues.  Aromas of confected black plum, leather and violets on the nose with smokey mushroom and white pepper.  Sweet red plum, spice and confected raspberries show on the palate along with hints of leather and orange peel. The wine has medium grained tannin, complex layers and a good line of acid with a long finish with lovely rich sweet fruits.
