Description

"This Organic Malbec reflects the continued evolution of the winemaker Gabriel Bloise towards a deeper freshness and precision. Red and black fruits, a hint of liquorice and subtle minerality make it delicious to drink. It also offers an excellent quality/price balance" Tim Atkin, Master of Wine

"Black fruit, liquorice and herbal tones. Quite dry, medium bodied and chalky tannins" International Wine Challenge, 2017

"Full, ripe and very supple, this Organic red from Argentina caresses the palate with blueberry, plum, prune and dark-chocolate flavours, which are accented by notes of fresh herbs and flowers. There's a fresh, grapy quality here, too, which may be par for the course with Argentine Malbec, but this wine is fully dry and better structured than most at its price level, showing good energy" Beppi Crosariol, The Globe & Mail, Feb 2018

An exotic bouquet of spice, tea leaves, blackberry, black plum. The nose also displays hints of purple flower. Medium-bodied on the palate with fine tannins offering a nice texture that builds with air. Flavours lead with tea leaves, spice and graphite layered on top of floral and dark plum notes.

The soils in the vineyards where these vines are planted are mostly loam, with sandy loam spots and deeper mineral deposits of calcium carbonate coated gravels and the climate sunny and dry, with large thermal amplitude. Perfect conditions for these organic and biodynamic (as certified by Demeter) Malbec grapes to create a delicious fruity wine with the subtle minerality that has made this wine Argentina's unopposed monarch.

The winemaker is Gabriel Bloise and is a member of the new generation of Mendoza winemakers. Bloise brings experience from harvests in Tuscany, California, Priorat, and Australia to this role. He believes that winemaking is a tool to express nature and the best wines are those that hide the hand of the maker. Here in the 100% Malbec wine he uses a combination of old oak barrels and concrete vats for 10 months.

Food Pairing: In Argentina, wine comes second only to its fabulously rich world-famous steaks and together the two are a match made in heaven! We recommend pairing with rare steak served with cauliflower with caper relish or alongside grilled watermelon and green tomatoes for a summer twist.
