Rocca Delle Macie Chianti Vernaiolo 2016 (Italy)
Description
Lively ruby red in the glass with savory notes on the nose with traces of ripe red fruit following this. The palate is is fresh, balanced and full bodied.
Founded in 1973 when Italian film producer Italo Zingarelli realised a lifelong dream to own a piece of Chianti country. Nowadays, with his son Sergio at the helm, they are well known for their quality wines.
The Rocca Delle Macie Chianti Vernaiolo 2016 as typical of this region is a blend largely of Sangiovese (90%) and smaleer quanties of Merlot (5%), Canaiolo (5%). Following careful grape selection and maceration of the must over the grape skins for at least ten days, an advanced constant temperature fermentation technique is applied, yielding a pleasant full bodied wine that keeps its distinctive fruitiness for an extensive period of time.
Food Pairing: This is a particularly versitle wine, making it a great wine to match with every course though it is particularly suited to meats and pastas.
