Description

"This special selection, tight-cropped from 30 acres of 100% Merlot, is ripe and rich. This is a smoky and fruity wine, in barrel for 14 months. It has ripe black fruits and rich, dense structure. Spice and toast balance the fruit, giving an impressive sense of generosity. Drink from 2017." Wine Enthusiast Magazine

"The leaf, mushroom and fruit character is very pretty in this wine. Medium body, fine tannins and a delicious finish. Pure merlot. Open and attractive." James Suckling

"Deep crimson. Very luscious and ripe. Exceptional for the vintage! Very rich. Perhaps not quite enough freshness for perfection but well done overall." Jancis Robinson, Master of Wine

From Jean-Marie Chadronnier, this excellent Francs Côtes de Bordeaux is mostly Merlot and reflects that in its supple, juicy, black cherry and blackcurrant fruit. Lush, medium-bodied and very pure, it should drink nicely for another 5-8 years.
