TW Lilly Gisborne Rosé 2016
Description
Watermelon pink, this Rosé is prettiness in a glass. Aromas of pink cherry and subtle wildflowers introduce an elegant palate showing flavours of cherry and marzipan. Wonderfully elegant, this Rosé has balanced sweet fruit character and acid, ensuring that it partners well with many dishes.
Merlot -from another excellent vintage- was harvested in the cool of the morning and kept cool once crushed, so some juice could be siphoned away to make Rosé. The juice was briefly settled to clarify and then fermented with aroma enhancing yeast to maximise the expression of berries and flower notes. Once finished ferment and the balance of sweetness was attained, the wine was carefully fined before being stabilised and filtered for bottling. Rosé is best enjoyed while the flavours are vibrant, although complexity will develop with age.
Food Pairing: Such a versitlie little number paring beautifully with salmon, smoked duck and venison we recomend just experimenting!
