Description
"Beautifully ripe and fragrant, the bouquet shows dark fruit, smoked game, nutmeg, truffle and mixed spice characters. The palate is concentrated and impressively weighted, and offers excellent fruit power and velvety texture, brilliantly structured by fine, chalky tannins. The wine is generous and rich with lovely fruit flavours, backed by engaging savoury undertones. At its best: now to 2020." Feb 2017 Sam Kim
The most ancient traditions associated to the area of production of our Luna Argenta wines narrate how the moon and its phases are essential for creating outstanding wines--all classic grapes of the regions. Right from the planting of the vines the influence of the lunar cycle is a pivotal element. Seeding, Growth, Manuring, Pruning and the Harvest are in fact determined by the will of the moon and only marginally by men. A local aphorism says that: “it is the moon, rather than the sun, that makes the grapes grow”. Thence terroir and tradition, wine and passion always gather under the same moon. The result--full-bodied and structured wines.
A blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Ciliegiolo, this “Super Tuscan” blend is intense ruby red in colour and full-bodied with good structure, yet soft tannins. It shows fruity notes of blackberries. “Ciliegiolo” translates to “cherry” and the flavour can be found on the palate. Serve with roast meats and aged cheese.
