CELEBRATE EURO 2016 WITH THE WINE OF EURO CHAMPIONS SPAIN’S CAPTAIN, ANDRES INIESTA
"A GORGEOUS MODERN EXPRESSION… EXCELLENT BALANCE AND HARMONY"
"A gorgeous modern expression yet it retains Old World style and refinement. The perfumed nose shows aromas of dark plum, blueberry, mixed spice and floral, followed by a succulent palate that's velvety with fleshy mouthfeel, leading to a lingering smooth finish. Excellent balance and harmony. At its best: now to 2018." Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
Corazón Loco (‘crazy heart’) is the wine of Spain’s goal scoring hero in the finals of the 2010 World Cup, Andrés Iniesta, from his birth place Fuentealbilla, in the mountainous D.O. Manchuela which became a separate DO from La Mancha in 1982. Iniesta’s passion for wine started as a small boy when his family owned a 10 hectare vineyard. With a little bit of help from his football earning salary, the last 10 years has seen this plot of land increase in size to 120 hectares of mature vineyards. The climate is continental (long hot dry summers, cold winters) influenced by the nocturnal moisture bearing winds from the Levant which keep temperatures down to a mean annual 25C. A blend of 50% Syrah and 50% Tempranillo from a combination of young vines up to 30 years old, planted on clay and loam soils at 800 metres above sea level to produce a violet coloured wine bursting with dark berry, floral and mineral notes. Full and fleshy to taste with soft tannins it is an extremely characterful everyday drink.
