“The fourth release of this label, fruit from 23 y.o. vines from the Penley Estate in Coonawarra, fermented to 15.0% alc., the wine aged 13-17 months in 45% new American and French oak. Very dark, saturated blackred colour with purple hues. This has a very full, beautifully ripened fruit bouquet of sweet blackcurrants with subtle mint notes, and balanced oak spices. Full-bodied, this has lush, ripe flavours of blackcurrants with sweet blackberry and black plum flavours, presented with purity and clarity. The flavours are mouth filling, and seamlessly flow through the palate, with sweetness and warmth. Very fine-grained tannins emerge, showing the significant extraction, and along with fine acidity lead to a strong, sustained finish. A rich, classically ripe and seamless Cabernet Sauvignon that has the ability to keep 9-12+ years. Serve with grilled and roasted lamb and beef.” – Raymond Chan, Senior Wine Judge
