Take It To The Grave Limestone Coast Pinot Noir 2024 (Australia)
Description
Medium in colour and a slightly unique delivery of strawberries on the hose with dark plums and cherries consisting of a savoury edge. The palate is sumptuous with smooth cherry and vibrant red berried fruit. It presents a beautifully lush mouthfeel complemented by fine tannins and soft acidity that provide structure and length.
Take it to the Grave is a joint venture between Nicholas Crampton and South Australian winemaker Corey Ryan created to deliver interesting and rewarding wines whilst challenging a few established rules and preconceptions.
A cooler than average growing season, frost, the lack of rain and poor weather during flowering including strong winds throughout November and December resulted in lower yields however, the dry and consistent weather during picking resulted in a vintage of high-quality fruit.
Sourced from established vineyards in the Limestone Coast known for its distinguished Pinot Noir fruit. Fermented in three tonne open top fermenters with whole bunch influence and hand plunged twice daily. Partially matured in seasoned small format French oak before bottling.
