Description

"This is splendidly ripe and richly expressed on the nose, showing blackcurrant, sweet cherry, tobacco, game, and hazelnut aromas. The palate delivers excellent weight and plump mouthfeel, beautifully framed by fleshy texture and fine-grained tannins, making it sturdy and robust with a sustained, structured finish. At its best: now to 2030" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Sep 2023

Les Maurins 2022 has a beautifil intense red color with purple highlights. The nose is very expressif with aromas of ripe black fruits. The mouth is round & fleshy with melted tannins and a lingering finish. Cellar up to 5 years. After this period, the wine will show more mature characteristics.

For decades, the Family LAVAUD has worked to develop their familial vineyard which extends through the best terroir of Bordeaux. In 1980, family LAVAUD, already owner of two small estates in Saint-Emilion and Lalande de Pomerol, acquired an estate covering 70 hectares near the village of Pellegrue (Entre-Deux-Mers), but without a single plot of vine on it. 30 years later, nearly 90 hectares have been planted on this estate. Today, the Lavaud family manages 100 hectares on 3 different appellations. All along the past 30 years, Hubert Lavaud has consistently invested both at the vineyard and at the cellar, making Château Les Maurins one of the most reliable château in the Entre-Deux-Mers. The production is regularly awarded at the main wine tastings.

60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc.

Food Pairing: Well paired with rib, steak, veal stew, dessert and chocolate.
