Back in the day Lady Godiva was an English noblewoman who rode through the town nakes on horse back. This was in protest to an oppressive tax that her husband imposed on his tenants. Times have changed. People these days will do anything for a few more hits on Instagram and a chance for their 15 minutes of fame. We want to get back to the grass roots. We want to celebrate those who choose to be free, those who just want to get back to nature, feel the wind rushing through their hair. We want nothing more than to celebrate life and get a real taste of the Marlborough sun!
Grapes were sourced from two vineyards in Marlborough’s Wairau Valley. The vines are low cropping and immaculately tended to produce fruit with intense varietal characters. The grapes were harvested in the cool of the night at the peak of flavour development. The grape must was left to soak on the skins for an extended period to assist with extraction of flavours. Post pressing, settled clear juice was fermented with yeast selected to enhance the varietal expression.
Food Pairing: This aromatic wine is said to pair perfectly with an Asian style pork dish, experts suggest you try it for yourself.
