This first release Sneaky Bill Chardonnay incorporates bold flavours that are bound to set your taste buds alight. Intense aromas of citrus zest and rock melon are enhanced by the stone fruit characters dancing on the palate, displaying layers of lemon pudding and cream. Drink now or save for later, this youthful Chardonnay will drink beautifully for the next three to five years from release.
Sneaky Bill and our viticultural team took extra care during the 2023 growing season, especially when it came to monitoring the fruit for our Marlborough Chardonnay. Harvested by machine when the grapes had reached their optimum flavour profile. The fruit was immediately pressed from its skins and fermented in warm temperature controlled stainless-steel vessels. The wine underwent a second malolactic fermentation before aging gracefully in French oak barriques.
Bill is the vineyard handyman. Bill is sneaky. Why is Bill sneaky? Well, he is a bit of a pyromaniac. He loves to burn stuff. If it’s not nailed down, then Bill will burn it. And even if it is, then sneaky Bill might just sneaky it into his latest bonfire. In celebration of Bill and his sneaky ways, we have created a wine in his honour. We have even sneakily incorporated some extra bold flavours and punch into our wines that is bound to set your taste buds alight.
