"Plush, ripe, fruity, floral, fresh and new. Aromas and flavours of red plums and cherry, red melon and strawberry flesh then a moment of tropical fruit punch. Just dry with a tickle of residual sweetness then core fruit flavours take control. Balanced, well made and ready with best drinking starting Spring 2023 through end of summer 2025" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Sep 2023

This complex Estate Rosé is crafted in an off dry style from premium Hawkes Bay grapes. With aromas of cherry blossom, it exudes lovely strawberry and raspberry flavours, complemented with subtle rock melon and lychee notes. The palate is textural and full-bodied, yet delicate.

The grapes for this cooler-climate loving style were sourced from various selected sites throughout the district of Hawkes Bay.

The 2023 growing season experienced a cooler start during Spring flowering, helping to naturally moderate crop for higher wine quality later. The climate then led into an averagely dry summer before the arrival Cyclone Gabrielle on 13th Feb. After the dissipation of the cyclonic conditions the vineyards underwent a revaluation. To decrease the stress on the vines the decision was made to select some sites to optimise Rose production. Fruit condition along with flavour and balance meant healthy fruit was able to be harvested, starting on 30th March through to 12th March April 2023 with an average brix of 20.

This appealing wine was crafted in a fruit-forward style achieved through vinification in stainless steel tanks, along with a slow cool fermentation. Inoculated with yeasts specially selected to bring out the luscious intensity of this aromatic variety, the wine was lightly fined, and progressed through to cold stabilisation, before bottling under screwcap on 11th August 2023.

Food Pairing: Fresh and vibrant, enjoy on its own or with salmon or a selection of soft cheeses.
