Description

  • French oak
  • White nectarine
  • Crème brûlé
  • Elegant & complex

"Complex and refined, the wine shows ripe apricot, vanilla, hazelnut, and brioche aromas on the nose, followed by a wonderfully weighted palate that's succulent and fleshy. Beautifully rounded and flowing to a persistent satisfying finish" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit

"Bright, even, pale straw yellow. The nose displays elegant stonefruit and blossoms intermixed with vanilla, spice and nutty elements. Medium-bodied, lush fruit of peach and nectarine entwined with a hint of grapefruit, spice, vanilla and cashew. The fruit is generous and fleshy, enriched by a creamy mouthfeel, flowing smoothly and guided by a lively tension. This is a well-rounded Chardonnay with lush fruit, lively acidity and nutty elements on a creamy, amiable palate" Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews, Jun 2023

This Chardonnay has enticing aromas of white blossom, lemon curd and crème brûlée. The palate shows characters of fleshy white nectarine, green tea and toasted cashew. A complex and elegant wine with a lengthy finish.

Sourced from Bendigo Hills, Central Otago, New Zealand. Our aim in the vineyard is to grow the best fruit we can so it can speak of its home and express its personality. To do this you need healthy vines and soil. By practicing organics and incorporating some biodynamic principles we believe we are doing our best to help achieve this and let our vineyards evolve and speak as they would like.

Chardonnay clones 548 and B95 were hand-picked on the 26th of April then gently whole bunch pressed. After settling the juice overnight, we rack to select French oak (50% new) where an indigenous fermentation occurs. Extended aging on lees builds complexity and extends aging potential. Racked after 10 months and lightly filtered before being bottled on the 31st of March 2023.
