Description

  • Dry style
  • White peach
  • Ripe lemonade
  • Fresh & juicy

"Intensely aromatic and inviting, the bouquet shows feijoa, crunchy apple, fig and lime peel aromas, leading to a delectable palate that's filled with juicy fruit intensity, finishing long and satisfying" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit

"Pungent, fruity, varietal and very new with aromas and flavours of fresh white peach and lemon, apple and white mango. There’s a leesy spice and acid-line texture accentuating the mouthfeel. The acidity also carries the fruit flavours evenly through the palate. Hay and some fresh herbs along with a dry stone soil suggestion adds breadth and some complexity. Well made, still very youthful with best drinking from 2024 through 2027" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Sep 2023

The aromatic nose holds hints of herbal minerality with a generous serving of Granny Smith apples and ripe lemonade. The palate is fresh and juicy with generous tropical fruit flavours and a touch of citrus and rock melon. Drink young and fresh through to 2025.

From a selection of our growers in the Nelson region. Predominantly Moutere Clay with stony alluvial soils.

Harvest 2023 was also a challenging season to start with. Variable fruit set and early disease pressure made it challenging work for our team out in the vineyards. It settled down with a dry, hot January, then February kicked in and was wet from start to end. March came along and the weather behaved until harvest time. We ended up with good quality fruit across all varieties and about average sized volumes. All in all, a very good year and some lovely wines to follow.

Kahurangi Estate is named after the stunning Kahurangi National Park on our doorstep. Kahurangi is a Maori word with a number of translations, two being “treasured possession” and “precious jewel”. The Kahurangi Estate Series showcases some of the finest wine the region has to offer.

Food Pairing: A generous, easy drinking wine - enjoy with Asian seafood dishes, a soft goat cheese salad or on its own.
