Description

  • Watermelon
  • Crisp finish

"Red hues with a salmon orange core lead to aromas of strawberry flesh and yellow cherry. Bright, lifted, floral, fruity and youthful bouquet. Equally fleshy and juicy on the palate with a core of bright light red fruit flavours, some citrus and orange, plum and cherry. A lovely wine for Summer 2023 drinking and through end of summer 2024" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Nov 2022

"It's sweetly ripe and inviting on the nose with strawberry, watermelon, apricot and subtle spice aromas, leading to an elegantly flavoursome palate offering ripe fruit flavours with refreshing acidity, making it instantly appealing and easy to enjoy. At its best: now to 2024" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Nov 2022

A fresh fruity rosé with a lifted bouquet of fresh ripe raspberries, cranberries and strawberries followed by a silky smooth palate with a crisp lingering finish and hints of juicy watermelon.

Our younger vine Pinot Noir is perfect for making Rosé and is typically the first batch of fruit to be picked at harvest as we are looking for plenty of primary fruit, good acidity levels and moderate sugar levels. The grapes are machine harvested, crushed and pressed straight to stainless steel tanks and this is enough time to pick up just the right amount of gorgeous pink colour. The juice is then inoculated with yeast and fermented at cool temperatures to preserve all the primary fruit aromas. The ferment is stopped with a small amount of residual sugar to balance the natural acidity. The wine has been filtered and minimally fined to ensure its purity and freshness and to preserve the delicate colour.

Food Pairing: The Monowai Pinot Noir Rosé is all about fun, fruit and freshness. This wine exhibits so many of the red fruit flavours and aromas associated with a red Pinot Noir, while having none of the tannin and all of the acidity. Our Rosé is a wonderful apéritif but also compliments a wide range of meals, especially those served in the sunshine.
