The Little Giant Shiraz continues to be the favourite in the Wombat family. The wine displays more elegance and lift than previous vintages though the cooler Eden Valley fruit adds aromatic lift, interest, and freshness. This is a contemporary Barossa Shiraz having spent maturation time in older oak adding subtle vanilla and chocolate nuances. There’s softness on the finish while maintaining freshness and vibrancy.

One of the best vintages in the last decade for the Barossa in 2021 with vignerons ecstatic with the quality of the fruit. Good rainfall over winter ensured the soil retained moisture over the early part of the growing season. A warm - but not ridiculously hot - Summer followed with dry conditions ensuring an even ripening all the way up to harvest. A vintage that will be celebrated in the region.

Little Giant Shiraz is crafted from fruit sourced from select premium vineyards of both the Barossa Valley and Eden Valley. Picked in the cool of the morning to retain freshness, the fruit is de-stemming and fermented in stainless steel tanks. The wine then spent nine moths in used large format French and American oak barrels to build structure whilst softening the palate and develop flavour complexity without overt extraction of oak characters.

Food Pairing: Pair with a classic beef and mushroom pie.

It's complex and classy enough to enhance a fine dining table - and gluggable enough to enjoy whenever the mood takes you.
