"Bright, even, pale blush-pink. The bouquet is elegantly presented, fresh red berries, strawberries, stonefruit aromas melded with lifted floral notes. Medium-bodied, good palate weight carrying strawberries, plum and stonefruit aromas, adorned by flower petals, black pepper and a hint of minerals. The wine is bone dry, fruit aromatics and floral are well-proportioned. The mouthfeel is smooth with a touch of fine-textured phenolics, hauling spice and brilliant, balanced acidity to a refreshing, long finish. This is a poise structured, dry rosé with an immense balance of fruit and acid on a fine-textured, expressive palate. Serve as an aperitif or match with beef carpaccio over the next 3 years" Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Wine Reviews, Nov 2021

"Pale pink in colour with fresh, youthful aromas of strawberries, raspberries and watermelon on the nose, leading into a dry rosé with a medium body and summer fruit flavours. Molly’s Block rosé is 100% Syrah, made from grapes grown in Moteo Pa in Hawke’s Bay. The wine was made from grapes grown on a later ripening site with a cooler climate which allows the grapes to retain acidity, which is beneficial for rosé’s refreshing qualities. The grapes in this wine were gently pressed with only free run juice used and, following cold settling, it was fermented at cool in stainless to capture and retain fruit flavours, freshness and vibrancy. Residual sugar of 0.3 grams per litre makes it totally dry" Joelle Thomson, 2021

A bright, salmon pink colour. Attractive aromas of fresh raspberries, strawberries, and watermelon lead to beautifully weighted, refined, and harmonious palate defined by intense red fruit flavours and a long, refreshingly dry, salivating finish. Molly’s Block is best enjoyed while young but will continue to drink well over the next two to three years.

100% Syrah grown in the Molly's Block Vineyard in the Moteo Pa subregion of Hawke's Bay. Molly’s Block is a cooler, later-ripening site that allows the grapes to develop maximum aroma and flavour while preserving natural acidity. Winemaking was strongly focused on enhancing the aromatics and delivering the delicacy and finesse crucial to premium Rosé.

Weather conditions leading up to the 2021 harvest were typical of a Hawke’s Bay summer – warm sunny days with moderately cool nights. As autumn arrived the season became cooler yet remained dry, providing ideal ripening conditions.

The grapes were rapidly and gently pressed with only the “free-run” juice used to produce an elegant wine low in phenolics (tannins). The juice was cold settled for clarification, fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel to maximise the retention of fruit character and bottled early to capture its youthfulness and vitality.

Food Pairing: Eminently enjoyable on its own or partnered with salmon, poultry, or lighter red meat dishes. Serve chilled.
