"Ample and pure, with an elegant nose of black cherries and plum jam laced with vanilla. The palate is laden with high quality, fine-grained tannins around deep flavours of dark chocolate, black cherry, damson and clove" Decanter Magazine, 2020
Lornano is a grand Tuscan estate and its wines are some of the Tuscany's best. The good news is that they have found a parcel of cellar aged 95-point, single vineyard Riserva Classico. Even richer and more luscious than usual in the terrific 2015 vintage.
Le Bandite is one of the family's top wines, made from Sangiovese sourced exclusively from its single vineyard of the same name. The 2015 was an outstanding vintage for Tuscany, hence the lovely richness and depth of this wine and the 95 Points from renowned Decanter Magazine.
Aged for 20 months in French oak barrels, the rest in bottle, this is impressive Italian.
Located on the hills of Castellina not far from Siena, Fattoria Lornano has been owned by the Taddei family since 1904. Today they use the expertise of top wine consultant Franco Bernabei and his son Matteo. Franco is a gregarious Italian known locally as ‘Mr Sangiovese’ – his speciality grape. He has won hosts of awards including ‘Italian Winemaker of the Year’.
