Description

  • Off-dry style
  • Lemon pie
  • Kaffir Lime
  • Lingering finish

"Charming and nicely fragrant, this attractively styled sparkling wine shows rockmelon, golden peach and lemon peel aromas on the nose with a hint of spice. It’s beautifully ripe and refreshing on the palate with bright fruit intensity, making it delightfully drinkable" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jan 2020

A sparkling Brut Cuvée, expertly blended by the winemakers of Sherwood Estate Wines. A wine full of floral and fruit intensity with aromas of kaffir lime, fresh apple and lemon pie bringing a slightly sweet, toasty note. On the palate the wine is off-dry with full fruit flavours, fine acidity and soft, persistent bubbles. A lingering finish of citrus fruit flavours rounded by a slight honey note.

Amie is a selection of their finest wines brought together in an elegantly blended sparkling cuvée. Selected parcels of wine grown in the heart of the Waipara Valley from the 2018 and 2019 vintages were carefully blended to produce a wine with full fruit flavours, gentle acidity and refreshing length. 2018 was a warm and humid vintage and the wine from this year brings a rich fruit sweetness to the finished wine. The crisp fruit flavours of the 2019 vintage bring clear fruit notes and a palate-cleansing fresh acidity. After a light pressing the juice was cool fermented for at least 21 days. Following extended lees contact the wine was lightly fined, filtered and prepared for bottling.

Food Pairing: This wine is perfect to serve with appetisers, canapés or as an aperitif, but is always best enjoyed with friends.
