"2015 is indeed a fantastic year, producing rich and opulent reds with ripe and velvety tannins" James Suckling, Jamessuckling.com

"Put quite simply there were some sensational wines made in Bordeaux in 2015 and anyone who enjoys drinking claret will love them" Will Lyons, wine critic

Château Roquegrave is a prime example, boasting no fewer than four Gold medals!

We are super happy to welcome Château Roquegrave into our portfolio  – a family owned estate comprising 30 hectares of vineyards planted on a high plateau with a commanding view of the Gironde Estuary. A classic blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot with an average age of 25 years, the vines are carefully tended by winemaker and owner Pierre-Yves Joannon. In 2015 he was blessed with perfect conditions for flowering. High temperatures through most of the summer led to a smaller harvest than normal, but while the volume was frugal, the quality of the fruit was outstanding. This gave Pierre-Yves wonderfully rich, concentrated juice to work with. Blending Merlot with Cabernet Sauvignon and a splash of Cabernet Franc, he aged the wine in French oak.

Food Pairing: A delicious claret, worthy of its medals, it is ideal with game and roast meats.

2 x Château Les Eyraux Bordeaux Superieur 2016 (France)

AWARDED Gold Medal: Gilbert & Gaillard  2018

AWARDED Gold Medal: Concours International de Lyon 2018

AWARDED Gold Medal: Concours des vins Elle à Table 2018

Vintage rated 98/100 Points: Robert Parker's - The Wine Advocate rate the 2016 vintage

In the 9th Century marauding Vikings invaded Bordeaux. Having skirted the Médoc they settled in the area today known as "Les Eyraux". Legend has it the invaders, partial to the local wine let one winemaker keep his life in exchange for a few barrels of the best wine. Today iconic Bordeaux winemakers Coureau and Coureau produce this Merlot dominated blend exporting it to discerning clients from around the globe.

Deep ruby red in colour 'Les Eyraux' displays all the hallmarks of a Merlot-dominant blend. A nose of plums and black cherries follows through on the palate with a plump, soft mouthfeel with hints of spice on a clean, long finish.

Food Pairing: An ideal partner to roast lamb and beef.

2 x Château Saint-Hilaire Cru Bourgeois 2015 (France)

AWARDED Gold Medal: Concours International Macon 2017

AWARDED Gold Medal: Concours International Paris 2018

AWARDED 92/100 POINTS: Decanter Magazine

"2015 is indeed a fantastic year, producing rich and opulent reds with ripe and velvety tannins" James Suckling, Jamessuckling.com

A classic Bordeaux blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc from vines of over 30 years of age. This structured, balanced wine offers both rich black-currant fruit and some serious tannins. It is developing well, with the balance between Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot giving a juicy character as well as plenty of ripeness  with lovely aromatic lift and purity of fruit. Medium in body and gracious, the 2015 will drink well right out of the gate.
