Description

You can't go wrong with an Australian Shiraz, and these wines are no exception.

This ultimate collection includes:

1 x Little Giant Barossa Shiraz 2017 (Australia)

AWARDED 94/100 POINTS & 5 STARS: Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Aug 2018

AWARDED 92/100 POINTS: Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front

"Powerfully graceful, this delicious shiraz shows blackberry, blueberry compote, vanilla, roasted hazelnut and pepper spice notes on the nose, leading to a richly fruited palate that displays excellent depth and concentration, wonderfully framed by polished tannins. Gratifying and terrific drinking. At its best: now to 2027" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Aug 2018

"Barossa Shiraz. The brand is Little Giant, the website address is Little Giants. I deal in the small things. This is a new brand, by the looks, by Fourth Wave Wine. It comes in a short, fat, stump of a bottle. It has a wombat on the label aka a short, fat, stump of an animal. Conversation starter. Interesting. And we’re away. Barossa Shiraz. Hard to go wrong, and you certainly won’t here. This is an amazingly good buying/drinking option. So dark, so supple, so polished. Boom, as the wannabe cool kids say. Violet, clove, plum and sweet spice. The bounce of boysenberry. It’s not overly dark in colour terms but it tastes like ink, if that makes sense. It feels good in the mouth but it also feels ready to explode" Campbell Mattinson, Wine Front

The Barossa Valley component shows typical plum, red liquorice, chocolcate and mocha characters whilst the addition of the spicier, darker fruit of the cooler Eden Valley has added lift, interest and freshness. This is a contemporary Barossa Shiraz having spent maturation time in older oak adding subtle vanilla and match stick nuance but also softens it whilst maintaining freshness and vibrancy.

1 x Burns and Fuller Langhorne Creek Shiraz 2017 (Australia)

AWARDED 93/100 POINTS & 5 STARS: Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Aug 2018

"This is super comforting and gratifying; lifted aromas of blackberry, vanilla, milk chocolate and cake spice lead to a concentrated palate that is fleshy and velvety. The wine is filled with gorgeous fruit flavours backed by silky texture and polished tannins, finishing long and attractive. At its best: now to 2023" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jul 2018

This is plush with lifted red and blue berry fruit flavours layered with dark spice, fresh leather and black olive. The palate is loose and mouth-filling, driven long by fresh acidity and supple tannins. A serious wine suitable for all occasions – ready to drink now or with careful cellaring it will improve over the medium term.

Sourced from a combination of established, dry-grown vineyards in central South Australia and low-yielding McLaren Vale vineyards.

1 x Take It To The Grave Shiraz 2018 (Australia)

is full-bodied and very aromatic showing purple berry fruits, dark chocolate and cooling spices. The fruit has weight and evenness whilst the fine tannins and integrated acidity drive persistence to the length.

Sourced from a selection of mature, dry-grown vineyards in Langhorne Creek managed by Jim Zerella (delivering intensity, length and structure) and blended with a parcel of Barossa Valley Shiraz from Light Pass and the eastern slopes that provided opulent fruit depth.

The palate is equally satisfying with excellent fruit weight and intensity, wonderfully enhanced by supple mouthfeel and silky tannins. At its best: now to 2021" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit

Dark purple colour with lifted notes of red berry and blackcurrants framed by violet overtones and subtle cedarwood spice. I am a Big Aussie Shiraz fan...excellent regional variety in this 6 pack not a bad one here, plenty of grunt and flavour ... .. alway good to try something different....

Barry - 23/07/2019

I am a fan of the langhorne creeek region and these wine all have that spice of the langhorne grape. Mix it with a hunter grape and what a surprise. Although this case does not do that an exceptional case all the same. I hope others will enjoy it.
