Description
"A very likable, modern rendition; the fragrant bouquet shows dark plum, blueberry compote, floral and toasted almond characters, leading to a beautifully weighted palate that is succulent and supple. It is smooth and rounded with a lingering juicy finish. At its best: now to 2021" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Feb 2019
Great ruby red colour in the glass with predominant of red fruits such as currants and morello cherries showing on the nose and some overtones of spices (pepper). This is an elegant wine with mellowed tannins and candied fruit aromas.
The presence of vines in the Luberon goes back to antiquity. The Romans planted these vines in particular in the Pays d’Aigues region, and then in the Middle Ages and during the Renaissance, the wine–growing areas spread widely, especially to the north of the Petit Luberon.
This blend of Grenache (60%), Syrah (30%), Carignan and Mourvèdre (10%) grew in on old alluvial deposits on the terraces of the Rhône. This stony soil is composed of shingles on a great depth. The vinification is performed in the traditional way: grapes are destemmed with a fortnight maceration. The wine is matured in vats and bottled from 10 to 12 months after harvesting.
