Description

René Muré wines are made in collaboration with a few vine-growers around Rouffach. The pressing, the fermentation, the ageing and the bottling is done by René Muré. 12 generations of the Muré family have been in ownership of the winery, resulting in excellence being handed down through the generations.

The extra care entailed in applying biodynamic practices throughout the vineyards contributes to healthy, well aerated soils, as well as to increased flora and fauna and the general well-being of the vines, resulting in the remarkable harmony which characterises the wines of Clos Saint Landelin.

This mix includes:

1x Rene Mure Cremant D'Alsace Brut NV

awarded 90/100 points: Wine Enthusiast, Jan 2017

Persistent string of fine bubbles around the glass. An open nose gives off scents of apples, vanilla, cinnamon and lime-tree. On the palate it is rounded and easy to drink, with a fresh finish and good final. It is a good way to begin a dinner or celebrate a big event.

This crémant is made with : pinot blanc (25%), pinot auxerrois (25%), riesling (15%), pinot gris (25%) et pinot noir (10%). Only perfectly sound grapes are harvested, to reach the most finesse and liveliness in the crémant. They are exclusively coming from the clay- and limestone made soil of the Rouffach’s area. This origin gives citrus and yellow fruits’ aromas and fine structure to the crémant d’Alsace brut. The grapes are pressed whole (without having been crushed or destemmed before). The juice starts then its first fermentation in casks. The wine stays on fine lees during 12 months.

During the second fermentation, the wine wins elegance and fullness in bottle. The long contact with the lees and the riddling give richness which makes a good balance to the freshness. The lees are taken out by disgorging and replaced by the dosage. The wine gains its harmony during the few months of rest after the disgorging.

The grapes used to produce crémant are carefully selected by the Muré family. The calcareous soils of the Rouffach area are appropriated to the elaboration of fine and fresh crémants. The long ageing on the lees in bottles gives delicate bubbles and aromas.
