Description
"This is a delectable sweet wine offering gorgeous notes of marmalade, honey, cake spice and dried apricot on the nose with a hint of dried herb complexity. It is unctuously sweet and opulent, backed by crisp acidity, finishing long and delicious. At its best: now to 2021" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jul 2019
"The slightly misleading term 'iced' refers to the fact that heavily botrytis-affected sauvignon blanc grapes were picked on a cold frosty morning. Quite a concentrated wine thanks more to botrytis rather than frozen berries. Nicely balanced wine that retains some sauvignon blanc varietal character together with honeyed botrytis influence" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review, Feb 2017
Golden colour in the glass. The bouquet is filled with aromas of lime, Manuka honey, tropical fruits, nutmeg and wafts of cinnamon. A hint of smoke lends a clue this is Sauvignon Blanc. A sweet dessert style, the palate is decadent and sweet without cloying heaviness. Hard to resist.
Hand-picked after noble rot infection, the raisined grapes were slowly pressed to French oak barrels and a small tank for fermentation over 9 months.
Food Pairing: Match with a citrus tart, New York cheesecake or blue cheese and pear.
