Description

The colour is a bright crimson with aromas of crushed herbs, spices and an abundance of blue fruits. The palate is soft, yet deeply structured. Our Hill & Valley wines showcase the great diversity of the regions surrounding the winery. From the cooler Adelaide Hills to the elevated Eden Valley vineyards to those situated on the Barossa Valley floor, these ancient soils provide the base for great wines that speak of their origins.

The Barossa is acknowledged as the home of one of the world’s great Shiraz – its style and character define a place, a wine region. The parcels of Peter Lehmann’s Shiraz fruit come from across the breadth of the region, allowing a number of interpretations of this classic variety. For the H&V parcels are sourced from two vineyards in the Lightpass and Stockwell districts of Northern Barossa.

The 2015 harvest was an early vintage following a cool and dry growing season and timely rainfall at veraison. These conditions have produced highly coloured, richly structured red wines destined for many years in the cellar.

The wine was fermented on skins for up to two weeks to maximise colour and flavour and then aged for 12 months in a mix of new and old French oak hogsheads prior to bottling. In the winery all parcels were processed individually to create a final blend with layers of varietal character.

Food Pairing: A perfect accompaniment to a spicy beef stir-fry, barbequed chorizo sausage or a great parmesan.
