Description

  • Layered oak
  • Roasted plum
  • Toasted almonds
  • Lingering finish

"This is splendidly fruited and fragrant on the nose with blackcurrant, blueberry, floral and toasted almond notes. The palate displays ripe fruit intensity with fine texture and beautifully pitched tannins, finishing lingering and pleasingly dry. At its best: now to 2029" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Oct 2023

"Classic, ripe, varietal, bright and enticing bouquet of blackberry and dark roasted plum scents. Layers of oak and baking spices of clove and vanilla then a light smoky wood quality add complexity and depth. Firm and dry on the palate with a decent structure from tannins, acidity and inputs from wood and core fruits. There’s a light tobacco and wood flavour then flavours of dark plums and blackberry fruits return. Well made, dry and with plenty of length. Best drinking from 2024 through 2029" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Oct 2023

Sumptuous and fruity with aromas and flavours of blackcurrant, mint, toffee and sea spray. The palate is full of varietal fruit character and soft textures with a rich mouthfeel. Y Series Cabernet Sauvignon is a generous and friendly wine that shows why this varietal is one of the world’s best-known and enjoyed varieties.

Vintage 2021 has produced Cabernet Sauvignon grapes of balance, style and exceptional varietal characteristics. Good late winter and spring rains enabled the vines to grow healthy canopies. Few windy days and moderate temperatures during flowering provided an ideal environment for fruit set. Summer was mild with below average temperatures and cool nights, great for the development of pristine aromatics and flavours.

Food Pairing: Enjoy with vegetarian lasagna or grilled lamb chops.
