If you are looking for adventure and discovery, then this wine is made for you. The 2023 Shellback Chardonnay was crafted to embody those with a taste for freedom. Displaying fresh and vibrant aromas of nectarine and crisp lime, this new wine exhibits unforgettable flavours of ripe stone fruit and lemon meringue.
The fruit for this Chardonnay was sourced from the Marlborough region. Specially selected parcels of fruit were harvested and transported immediately to the winery where the grapes were swiftly fermented in cool stainless-steel tanks. The was went through a second fermentation (malolactic) to provide complexity and elegance to the structure. The resulting wine was tasted, blended, and prepared for final bottling by the end of 2023.
