"Bright, even, pale yellow. This has a reserved, savoury bouquet with penetrating aromas of stone fruit, apple and pear, lemongrass and minerals. Medium-bodied, expressive on the palate, with aromas of stone fruit, apple, pear and grapefruit intertwined with lemongrass, white spice and stony minerals. The mouthfeel is almost chalky, driven by an elegant tension to a savoury, dry finish. A brilliant straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, lighter on the rim. Fresh, elegant nose with soft gooseberry fruit aromas interwoven with sweet capsicum, grassy and mineral notes. Showing good presence, but stylishly restrained in expression.
Folium Vineyard is an 8ha vineyard located in the Brancott Valley, Marlborough. The soil was created by the ancient glacial action and river system. Low vigour clay-based soil in the vineyard can retain sufficient moisture during dry summers to balance the growth of the vines without using irrigation systems. Folium Vineyard believes that winemaking starts in the vineyard. Detailed care in the vineyard is carried out through the growing season to produce high quality fruit.
