Medium-bodied, red cherry and blackcurrant aromas entwined with thyme, liquorice, dark chocolate, earth and spice. Deep Dark Garnet red. A mix of complex ripe fruit aromas and perfumed florals with darker notes underneath. Black cherries and aromatic perfumed plum flavours. A perfectly balanced tannin and fruit synergy gives drive and length the the palate. The finish is long and savoury with complex briny notes and a hint of toasty oak. Single vineyard harvested from the Cowslip valley vineyard in Waihopai Valley. Hand harvested and fermented in small open top fermenters. Matured in French oak barrels for 7 months.
