Collection includes:

1 x Knappstein Clare Valley Shiraz 2020 (Australia)

Awarded 94/100 POINTS: Adelaide Wine Show, Oct 2022
AWARDED 93/100 Points & 5 Stars: Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, May 2021
AWARDED 93/100 POINTS: James Suckling, Nov 2022

"Splendidly ripe and perfumed on the nose showing black/blueberry, violet, toasted spice and hazelnut characters, leading to a beautifully weighted palate offering velvety texture and plump mouthfeel. Generous and flavoursome with a lingering silky finish" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, May 2022

"A medium-bodied red with berries, tobacco and wet earth with some mushroom. Flavourful and focused. Delicious. Real. Drink or hold" James Suckling, Nov 2022

The 2020 Shiraz is full of brambles and blue/black fruits with a spicy lift. Layers of brooding dark fruits, spice and savoury characters are framed in fine oak. The sinewy tannin profile pulls the wine through to a long and moreish finish.

Alc: 14.5%

1 x Knappstein Clare Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 (Australia)

Awarded 96/100 Points: Winestate Magazine, May 2022
Awarded 92/100 Points: James Suckling, Jamessuckling.com, Nov 2022
Awarded 92/100 Points & 4.5 Stars: Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, May 2022

"Varietally expressive and beautifully fragrant with blackcurrant, sweet cherry, green olive and roasted nut aromas, it's succulent and finely textured in the mouth displaying ripe fruit intensity backed by polished tannins. Beautifully balanced and elegant with a persistent finish. At its best: now to 2030" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, May 2022

"Aromatically it’s already quite developed with blackberry, amarena cherry, dried thyme and laurier aromas. The self-confidently dry finish should soften nicely with some more bottle age. Drinkable now, but best from 2024" James Suckling, Jamessuckling.com, Nov 2022

The 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon has aromas of juicy blackcurrants, dark chocolate and mint, accented by savoury notes of tobacco leaf. The palate is elegantly structured with classic flavours of chocolate and bay leaf, flowing through to ripe blackberries and fresh thyme to finish.

Alc: 14%

1 x Knappstein Clare Valley Riesling 2022 (Australia)

Awarded 94/100 Points: Tyson Stelzer, Dec 2022
Awarded 94/100 Points: Hobart Wine Show 2022
Awarded 93/100 Points: James Suckling, Oct 2022

"A pristine Clare Valley Riesling of purity and drive, boasting a vibrant straw green hue and honed focus of lime, lemon and granny smith apple that carry with impressive concentration, energy and persistence. Fantastic value for drinking now or holding with confidence" Tyson Stelzer, Dec 2022

"An excellent introduction to Clare Valley dry riesling. This has a nose of key-lime pie and has very good ripeness. Brimming with fruit, the bright acidity really lights up. Everything fits at the long finish" James Suckling, Oct 2022

The 2022 is a concentrated Riesling with true Knappstein traits of lime, spice and white florals on the nose and a generously flavoured palate. An elegant wine with lively acid, mineral texture and a powerful and persistent lemon finish. Dry style.

Alc: 12%

1 x Knappstein Clare Valley Chardonnay 2021 (Australia)

The 2021 Chardonnay is layered with varietal fruits of peach and pear. A subtle touch of spice from the oak, and a clean mineral finish makes this a complex, yet easy to drink wine.

The fruit is sourced from our Northern Clare Valley vineyards, where warm days and cool nights are perfect for ripening full fruit flavours with elegant acid.

1 x Knappstein Mayor's Vineyard Clare Valley Shiraz 2019 (Australia)

Awarded Gold Medal: London Wine Competition 2022
Awarded 98/100 Points: World's Greatest Shiraz/Syrah XVI Wine Show, Winestate Magazine, Aug 2021
Awarded 96/100 Points & 5 Stars: Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Mar 2021
Awarded 95/100 Points: Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front, Jun 2021

Another strong class with the 19's offering more consistency and the older wines mixed. The best was Knappstein 2019 The Mayors Vineyards Clare Valley Shiraz. Great to see this famous name being revived to its former glory" World's Greatest Shiraz/Syrah XVI Wine Show, Winestate Magazine, Aug 2021

"This is terrific; the perfumed bouquet shows black/blueberry, floral, vanilla, cedar and fragrant spice aromas, leading to a powerful palate displaying outstanding concentration and depth. It's plush and velvety with layers of delicious flavours. At its best: 2023 to 2039" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Mar 2021

"From a Clare Valley vineyard planted in 1969. Fruit-filled and fruit-forward. Luscious plum, blackberry, coffee-cream and mint flavours. Bold of body and of intent. There’s a reasonable kick of tannin here too, lending it shape, but the fruit sweeps straight on through it. Full marks for volume" Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front, Jun 2021

Aromas of blue berry, perfume and spice concentrate the nose, with elegant floral undertones providing lift. The palate is long and full of flavour, with a tight tannin profile and framework for the fruit to extend. Excellent tension and precise use of oak will see this wine age amongst the best in its class.

1 x Knappstein Enterprise Vineyard Clare Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 (Australia)

Awarded Gold Medal: Langton's Clare Valley Wine Show 2021
Awarded 98/100 Points & 5 Stars: Cabernet Sauvignon & Bordeaux Blend Challenge, Winestate Magazine, Jun 2021
Awarded 95/100 Points: Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front, Jun 2021
Awarded 94/100 Points: Erin Larkin, Halliday Wine Companion, Jan 2022

"An intense crimson hued wine that is very youthful with many heard ahead of it yet. It exhibits great depth, concentration and vibrancy of varietal fruit richness" Cabernet Sauvignon & Bordeaux Blend Challenge, Winestate Magazine, Jun 2021

"Well. This is a beauty. So much fruit, tannin and oak but in such overall balance. Blackcurrant and toast, peppermint cream and dried herbs, chocolate. Swoosh. It’s big, it’s creamy and it’s tannic but it has energy. Bowled me over a bit, this one. Belter of a Clare Valley cabernet" Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front, Jun 2021

"Fruit from the Enterprise vineyard in Spring Farm at 475m elevation. Whole-berry ferment, matured for 15 months in French oak hogshead (20% new). Cassis, salted licorice, cigar box, dark chocolate and blood plums. The nose and the palate are perfectly aligned in this classical, savoury and structural cabernet" Erin Larkin, Halliday Wine Companion, Jan 2022

The 2019 Enterprise Cabernet has a fragrant nose of red fruit, olive leaf and spice.  This is a classic Enterprise Cabernet in its typical medium bodied style that will continue to develop.  Knappstein’s single vineyard wines explore the full potential and individual nuances of our unique sites, producing wines with finesse and beauty.

Quality wines from one of Clare Valley’s best. An excellent selection, especially the reds, and love the dry Riesling. A repeat purchase for me.
