Te Mata Estate Vineyards Hawke's Bay Chardonnay 2020

A thoroughly modern Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay

A thoroughly modern Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay
Description
- White pear
- Grapefruit lemonade
- Nougat & cashew
- Fine, dry finish
A beautiful crystalline lemon in colour, Estate Vineyards Chardonnay ’20 has the immediate refreshing appeal of ripe peach, grapefruit lemonade, and fresh, juicy pineapple. On the palate, nougat, roast cashew, and barrel char combine with white pear and candied lemon to drive the concentrated fruit flavours to a fine, dry finish.
The grapes for Estate Vineyards Chardonnay ’20 were harvested between 21 February and 5 March 2020 from Te Mata Estate’s own vineyards in the Woodthorpe Terraces, Havelock Hills and Bridge Pa Triangle sub-regions of Hawke’s Bay.
Estate Vineyards Chardonnay ’20 combines the best of traditional and modern winemaking. This involved tank fermentation to preserve the vibrant varietal aromas and clear, fresh fruit expression along with some barrel fermentation, barrel maturation on gross lees, and malolactic fermentation to enhance the complexity, richness
and integration.
Food Pairing: Delicious on its own, or a wonderful partner for both simply prepared and fuller flavoured seafood, and white meat dishes.
