A well structured, full-bodied wine with medium tannins and pleasant berry flavours from the valley of the river Torto.

The vineyard of the Pinto e Cruz family is located in the valley of the Torto River in Sao Joo da Pesqueira. The side valley of the famous Douro is characterised by extreme steep slopes, slate soils and a tremendous heat. The harvest on the terraced slopes can only be done by hand. The grapes must be carried on mules to the next navigable path.

Since the beginning of the 1990s, Arlindo da Costa Pinto e Cruz has been farming its vineyards according to ecological criteria under these difficult conditions and was thus one of the pioneers in Portugal. Here in the heart of the Douro region, the family has been producing red wines for 80 years.
