Description

  • Dry style
  • White peach
  • White florals
  • Lively acidity

"A striking bouquet with aromas of a young and vibrant wine with fresh citrus and peach, there’s a fine savoury seam then scents of apple and lemon peel. Salivating, crisp and dry on the palate with flavours that transition quickly from white peach to citrus pith, apple and white flowers to lemon and a fine savoury lees texture. An aperitif style ready for imbibing from purchase and through 2025" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Sep 2021

"Appealingly tangy Albariño with typical white pepper, green tea, mandarin flower and salt-mineral flavours underpinned by lively acidity. The wine has weight and a lingering finish. Drink 2020 to 2025" Bob Campbell, Master Sommelier, Real Review, Jul 2020

Sourced from Kekerengu Coast, Marlborough. A slightly elevated river terrace of deep silt loam interspersed with fragmented limestone.

The 2018-2019 growing season was warm and dry, with a shorter period between budburst and harvest than typical. Drought conditions prevailed pre-harvest, and some timely rain towards the end helped vine health and grape flavour development. Berry size was smaller and bunch weight less than the previous two seasons, and crop loads were well balanced to soils and vine vigour.

Hand-picked and whole bunch pressed. Fermented on grape solids with a selected yeast strain, and aged on lees. Half was fermented and aged in a stainless steel tank and the other portion in old French oak barriques which went through malolactic fermentation with barrel stirring. Bottled 18th September, 2019.
