The wine is charming & elegantly lifted
Wine Orbit
Description
- Fresh raspberry
- Red apple
- Citrus zest
- Fruity and crisp
"The wine is charming and elegantly lifted on the nose showing Gala apple, raspberry, lemon zest and subtle spice aromas, followed by a juicy palate that is focused and vibrant. It is light, bright and refreshing with a lingering tasty finish" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Aug 2019
This wine displays a clear, clean and bright raspberry colour in the glass. Aromas of intense fresh strawberry and cherry aromas, with a touch of rose petal and red liquorice fill the nose. The palate is fresh and balanced with a persistent and fruity pleasing aftertaste.
Produced in the vineyards in Elciego (Rioja Alavesa), this has a Continental Mediterranean climate, with a strong Atlantic influence. Clay-limestone soils, organically poor.
The harvest process was mostly mechanized and during the second half of September. The grapes undergo 8 hours of skin contact before the juice is removed from the solids in a classic Rosé winemaking method known as “saignee”. 12 days in stainless steel tanks under temperature control (16 C). This is a young wine, with no barrel aging. It is kept three months in the bottle prior to its market launching.
Food Pairing: Assorted appetisers, salads and vegetable grills, smoked fish, Spanish-style octopus, all types of rice, pasta recipes, poultry and any other white meat.
