This award winning port makes the perfect gift to you

This award winning port makes the perfect gift to you
Description
Raisin, Spice, Sweet
This superior Grand Tawny Port displays a nose of raisins, dried pears, grilled nuts and spicy, dusty oak and is a rich garnet colour in the glass. The palate has balanced sweetness complemented by a good level of fresh acidity. This results in a wine that has pronounced aged character but maintains freshness and a long dry finish, avoiding any cloying character. This award winning port makes the perfect gift to you.
Galway Pipe is named after Governor Sir Henry Galway, Governor of South Australia between 1914-1920. Governor Galway was a frequent visitor to the winery and on each visit he would conduct a tasting of the finest ‘pipes’ (500 litre barrels) of fortified tawny. Whichever pipe was most to his liking was inscribed as ‘Galway’s Pipe’ and that particular blend was used exclusively at Government House.
