Wine Orbit
Description
- Dry style
- Baked pear
- Stonefruit
- Juicy acidity
"It's splendidly fruited and fragrant on the nose with golden peach, ripe pear, rockmelon and rich floral aromas. The palate delivers excellent weight and fruit intensity beautifully supported by supple mouthfeel and juicy acidity, making it delightfully drinkable. At its best: now to 2024" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Sep 2021
"Pale straw-yellow colour with an amber hue, even colour throughout. The nose is rich and savoury, with aromas of dried flowers and spice underlying ripe pear and quince. Medium-full bodied, dry to taste, pear, quince and melon aromas filled the palate, fleshy and ripe; adorned by spice and yellow floral. The succulent fruit is ripe with good weight and reflects a creamy mouthfeel. Balanced acidity flows smoothly with phenolic texture. This is a succulent Pinot Gris with good weight and fruit intensity on a creamy mouthfeel" Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews, Jul 2022
A fine representation of Gisborne Pinot Gris in a strong year. Bright in the glass with a gorgeous coppery hue. The aromas run from fresh pear to baked pear to stonefruit and citrus backed up by a sweet scent of floral spice. The wine is medium bodied and has impeccable balance. There is a whisper of sweetness, but this is framed against juicy acidity, and, as a result, the residual sugar is hardly noticeable. The finish is long, fresh and clean.
Representing the essence of Gisborne Pinot Gris in a strong year.
Food Pairing: Wonderful as an aperitif, and also matches wonderfully with Asian inspired cuisine. Pour a glass, nestle into your favourite seat, and, watch the sun go down.
