Yalumba Y Series Viognier 2020 (Australia)
Complex, aromatic & dry
Complex, aromatic & dry
Description
- Dry style
- Honeysuckle
- Ginger
- Silky texture
Corn silk yellow in colour with green hues. White flowers and honeysuckle dominate the aromas with ginger and five spice to finish. The white flowers and ginger lead into a creamy mid-palate with a silky textural finish. The wild fermentation and lees aging gives the wine an extra level of complexity on the palate that belies its age.
The Y Series is a collection of iconic classics and exciting new varietals. Each wine is authentically crafted with fruit from South Australia’s most celebrated wine regions. At Yalumba we believe that one good wine leads to another. The Y Series was created with that belief in mind. We look forward to sharing our love of wine with you as you explore the Y Series.
Cool, dry conditions during winter and spring led to a late season start with good canopy growth. This was greatly appreciated as the canopy was able to shade the grapes from above average temperatures in December. January and February were cooler with mild days and cool nights contributing to wonderful freshness and acidity at harvest.
Food Pairing: Harissa chicken or crispy rice pancakes with potato and chickpeas.
