Magenta in colour with purple hues. Berry aromas dominate the nose. Boysenberry and blackberry are complemented by a hint of spearmint and clove. The palate is generous, round and succulent. A fruit pastille mid-palate is balanced by mouth-coating soft tannins and natural acidity, creating a refreshing, persistent finish.

Winter was cold with replenishing rain, cool weather through spring and into early summer followed. These conditions allowed the grapes to mature flavours slowly and evenly over time. Warm weather in February and March helped finish ripening the Merlot grapes, which were harvested full of flavour.
