Silky & lingering with tasty fruit flavours
Wine Orbit
Description
Blueberry, Mocha, Oak
"It's fruit-forward and fragrant on the nose, showing dark plum, floral, subtle spice, and toasted almond characters. The palate is succulent and supple, well supported by fine-grained tannins, making it silky and lingering with tasty fruit flavours" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jul 2025
"Deep ruby-red with a dark purple hue, lighter on the rim. The nose is full, packed with aromas of plum, blackberry, cedar, eucalyptus and an amalgam of spice. Full-bodied, aromas of dark plum and blackberry have a ripe core, entwined with cedar, eucalyptus, black pepper, clove and mocha. The fruit is rich with a dense mouthfeel, supported by lively acidity. Smooth yet robust tannin extraction provides structure and grip, unfolding mocha and cedar on a long finish" Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews, Jul 2025
"Classic Shiraz scents of ripe red berry fruits, some spice and dried herb with moments of licorice and peppercorn. Flavours on the palate suggest red currant and tart raspberry then plum and milk chocolate. The use of oak adds a touch of smoke and tannin. Plenty of acidity and drive" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Jul 2025
Aromas of ripe plum and dark fruits entwined with subtle notes of vanilla, blackcurrant and savoury roast hinting at its complex, earthy character. Cinnamon and cloves add warmth, while black tea and bay leaf bring complexity to the nose with a touch of blackcurrant. Beautifully balanced with vibrant, red fruit flavours. Soft tannins provide smooth, velvety texture. Well structured with balanced acidity and fine, elegant tannins on the finish.
Sourced from vineyards throughout the renowned Barossa region. A range of terroir can be seen across the different vineyards, from sandy soils to sandy loam, to red-brown earth over red clay, ideal for growing expressive Shiraz.
Wet soils from abundant rainfall, combined with cooler than average temperatures in September and October, delayed the growing season by several weeks. Windy conditions during flowering resulted in lower fruit set at some vineyards. Summer was relatively mild. The grapes thrived in these conditions to produce an elegantly restrained wine with character and charm.
Food Pairing: Enjoy with roast beef seasoned with Worcestershire sauce, garlic and thyme; or grilled vegetables skewers with olive oil, reduced balsamic vinegar, fresh herbs and garlic.
