A voluptuous wine with soft, round flourishes of dark fruit
Description
Blueberry, Mocha, Oak
"The bouquet is rich in scents of ripe dark berries, cranberry and raspberry then a granitic earthy quality followed by red licorice and baking spices. Firm and dry on the palate, flavours reflect the bouquet housed in the acidity and across the palate. Tannins have a light firmness, a low oak expression with a juicy fruited core and balanced even finish. Drinking well now and through 2028+" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Nov 2024
Vibrant ruby red with crimson and magenta hues. Aromas of dark plums, blueberries and chocolate supported by spicy mocha, liquorice, vanilla and pepper with hints of boysenberry and strawberry. A voluptuous wine with soft, round flourishes of dark fruit. The aromas are mirrored by the flavours on the palate with dark chocolate undertones and soft, silky tannins.
Sourced from vineyards throughout the renowned Barossa region. A range of terroir can be seen across the different vineyards, from sandy soils to sandy loam, to red-brown earth over red clay, ideal for growing expressive Shiraz.
A wet winter provided good soil water reserves for the vines to start their growing season. Spring rainfall was above average, combined with mild summer temperatures that created an ideal ripening environment. This allowed the grapes to reach full maturity while retaining great natural acidity. Matured with a selection of French, Hungarian and American oak for 10 months.
Food Pairing: Enjoy with sticky barbeque beef ribs; Asian black bean steak; silken tofu with chilli bean paste; or spicy cinnamon and rhubarb bake.
