Description
Chocolate, Oak, Plum
"Gorgeously styled and expressed, the wine shows sweet plum, dried herb, warm spice, and assorted nut characters on the nose. The wonderfully weighted palate delivers a fleshy texture backed by layers of fine tannins, making it structured and sturdy, while remaining silky and soothing. At its best: now to 2032" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Mar 2025
"A smooth mouthfeel carrying silky tannins, juicy black fruit and thyme, harmonious barrel spice integration linger to a broody, long finish" Candice Chow, Wine Chat
"Complex, developing, varietal and enticing bouquet of dried herbs and plums, there’s a savoury quality then red cherry and spice. Dry, salivating a rather delicious on the palate. Flavours of bracken and dried herbs, desiccated cherry flesh and red fruit compote then baking spice of vanilla and clove reflecting the bouquet and region. Fine through firm-ish tannins and acidity frame the palate and confirm the WT style. Best drinking from day of purchase through 2030+" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Apr 2025
Ripe hand picked fruit, gentle winemaking and maturation in French oak have resulted in a complex and powerful wine. It has aromas of dark plum and chocolate, with a rich silk smooth palate and long spicy finish. A great example of one of the best Central Otago Pinot Noirs. Drinking fantastically well now and will develop and cellar for several years.
