This delicious Hawkes Bay Syrah displays aromas of black cherry and plum with hints of black pepper. The palate is rich and layered with flavours of ripe black Doris plum, bluberry and spice. An elegant structure, powdered tannin and a long complex toasty finish. Drinking beautifully now this W5 Syrah can be enjoyed young or with careful cellaring will mature over the next 5 years from vintage date.
This outstanding fruit was sourced from vineyards in the Hawke’s Bay. The vigour moderating, free draining gravel provides a superb base for this low cropping Syrah. The vineyard sites have ideal ripening conditions for achieving the intense aromatics and delicate structure that Syrah can give. The fruit was carefully monitored during ripening and harvested in the cool evening at maximum flavour maturity and physiological ripeness.
Food Pairing: Enjoy with grilled ribeye and chunky salted roast potatoes.
