Description
Cherry, Oak, Plum
"It’s brightly fruited and beautifully fragrant on the nose showing Black Doris plum, dark cherry, bay leaf and roasted nut aromas, leading to a succulent palate that’s plump and supple. Fruit forward and smooth with finely infused tannins, making it sturdy and lingering. At its best: now to 2027" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Mar 2024
"Aromas and flavours of plums and cherries, there’s a light floral quality and red currant, soft herb frame. Dry, balanced and well made, fruity, fresh and ready to drink with a simple complexity and finish. Tannins are from the fruit so there’s a fine mouthfeel quality. Best drinking from 2025 through 2027" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier
The nose seduces with beautiful aromatic fruit aromas along with complex spice and sandalwood undertones. This wine is well structured with elegance and mouth filling fruit flavours. Rich and concentrated with dark fruit flavours and black liquorice leading to a long toasty finish on the palate. This is a rich wine that is ready to be enjoyed now but will last for years to come. (Carefully cellar for up to five years from vintage date).
Grapes for this wine came from selected vineyards in Hawke's Bay and Marlborough, where they were harvested in the cool of the evening once they had reached maximum maturity. Once settled after a primary fermentation using carefully selected yeast strains, this wine was then racked to seasoned French oak barrels where it underwent secondary fermentation, adding complexity and structure to the wine.
Food Pairing: A perfect match with venison or a spicy risotto.
