Description
Blueberry, Unoaked, Vanilla
“Delightfully fruity and fabulously drinkable with dark plum, sweet berry, vanilla and subtle spicy nuances. The plump palate is supple and flowing, beautifully enhanced by silky texture and rounded mouthfeel” Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
“Vivid purple hue, with ripe blackberry and blueberry fruit, hints of liquorice and a soft, juicy finish. Excellent everyday Rioja” Decanter Magazine
“This delicious, soft, characterful, everyday-drinking wine illustrates just why Rioja is Spain’s most popular red wine” Steve Bennett, Master of Wine, Importer
“Bright, fresh and varietal with aromas of fresh red berries, plum and a gentle spice note… A youthful and appealing wine with a soft, rounded finish” Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier
Brilliant violet-ruby. Bursting with ripe blackberry, blueberry and cherry cola, wrapped in subtle floral (violet) and liquorice notes. The palate is medium-bodied, plush and velvety – waves of sweet dark fruit, soft tannins and just enough fresh acidity to keep it lively. Finishes with a touch of black pepper and lingering red-berry sweetness.
Viña Amate is a flagship brand of Viñedos de Aldeanueva – Spain’s largest vineyard-owning cooperative (over 900 farmer-members and 3,000+ hectares). Founded in 1956 in Rioja Oriental, the state-of-the-art winery sits between the Ebro River and the slopes of Mount Yerga, where low rainfall, intense sunshine and a mix of pebble, clay and limestone soils produce deeply coloured, healthy grapes with naturally high ripeness.
Grapes are night-harvested to preserve freshness, destemmed and gently fermented in stainless steel at controlled temperatures to emphasise pure fruit expression. No oak is used – the wine is bottled young to retain its vibrant purple colour and juicy personality.
Food Pairing: Drink now through 2027 (best 2025–2026). Serve slightly cool (15–17 °C). The ultimate crowd-pleasing red: pizza, burgers, tapas, charcuterie, roast chicken, or simply on its own.
